Dear Ladies and Gentleman, the cooperation between IMS and Gibbon Slacklines proves to be very fruitful. In April the winner of the German TV show „Wetten, dass ?...“, slackliner Bernd Hassmann, offered a spectacular performance on the “Tempo Libero 2010” trade fair in Bolzano.

Now IMS hosts the very first SlacklineWorldCup by Gibbon in Bressanone/Brixen, where top-notch slackliners from all over the world get a chance to strut their stuff on the line with breath-taking jumps and moves. SEL AG, Power Balance and Designer Outlet Brennero are partners of the first SlacklineWorldCup in history. Out of a total of 16 contestants, only 8 finalists were chosen in two semi-finals in Munich and Friedrichshafen Germany). The 2010 Gibbon Slackline World Cup finalists are: Bernd Hassmann (DE), Yoshinobu Azuma (JP), Luis Meier (DE), Andy Lewis (US), Nick ten Hoopn (NL), Maurice Wiese (DE), Janek Galek (PL), Felix Hachfeld (DE) Don't miss the World Cup finals on 6 November 2010 at the International Mountain Summit in Bressanone/Brixen (Italy) where an expert jury will judge the athletes' performance according to a set of internationally acknowledged rules and crown the first world Slacklining champion ever!

IMS – The mountain festival

The IMS is an international platform which discusses, celebrates and casts a new light on the mountains in all their different facets. It offers an extensive congress on a wide range of topics: The right to risk – About rights and liberties in mountain sports, Dolomites – World Heritage UNESCO: handling World Heritage Sites the right way, Rescue from the world’s highest mountains: Exporting rescue operations or education? Mountains and Sustainable Tourism and Women and mountaineering. Further highlights include the IMS Walk schedule, IMS Film featuring chosen classics and novelties of the mountain film genre, and the IMS Talk series packed to the brim with presentations and talks by the world's most fascinating mountaineers and climbers like Reinhold Messner, Steve House, Mick Fowler, Denis Urubko, Silvio Mondinelli and Kurt Diemberger.

The IMS Bouldering Festival, organised by the South Tyrol Alpine Club, unites some of the world's best boulderers. And it is with great anticipation that we look forward to welcoming the first two female mountaineers who have climbed all of the world's eight-thousanders: Meet Oh Eun Sun (South Korea) and Edurne Pasaban (Spain) at the IMS Women and Mountaineering discussion round!

From 30 October to 07 November 2010 in South Tyrol, located in the heart of the Alps, and especially Bressanone/Brixen, the picturesque town at the foot of the stunning Dolomites, will once again be the key place to be for mountain fans, world-class mountaineers and climbing talents from all over the world. Be there to share the inspiration and emotion, to celebrate the mountains and those who are passionate about them. For further information, tickets and news www.IMS.bz
