Rafting and Kayaking Raundal River and Stranda River in Voss, Norway
Raundalselva and Strandaelva are well-known Norwegian rivers having their meeting point directly in the city of Vossevangen, Voss municipality. Their crystal clear waters, strong rapids and raging waterfalls have made them a great water sports destination. Renowned both for recreational purposes or technically demanding kayaking and rafting, Raundal River and Stranda River can not stay out of our lists.

Organized Rafting and Kayaking tours began here in the early 90s. Voss Rafting Senter was established in 1992. In 2004 Voss Rafting Senter moved out from the town of Vossevangen to the natural beauties of the Skulestadmo village just few miles north. The center is situated by the river and presents one of the most modern raftingbase in Norway.

Raundal River (grade 3-5)

You can run this river when the Stranda River is too low, normally through August - Sept. Raundal river runs through a beautiful canyon away from the road. The river is demanding and is considered being one of the most technical in Norway offering dozens of powerful rapids in an amazing gorges.

Stranda River (grade 3-4)

Lundarvatnet Lake tributary, the river winds along the Vossestrandvegen road (nr.13) north of Vossevangen. This is the most usual rafting tour with more than 10 spectacular rapids and several beautiful sections. Since the river has a pool-drop profile, the grading is relatively low compared with the size of the rapids you will run, giving you great bang for your buck.

Adrex.com recommends using services of Voss Rafting Senter. They can provide you with transportation to the main spots, equipment rentals, experienced qualified guides, excellent water-sport facilities and even acommodation.

How to get there

Situated beside Lundarvatnet, an excellent fishing lake, the Voss Rafting Senter base sits in lowest parts of Skulestadmo village, right next to the water. To get to Vossevangen it is about a 1.5 hour drive northeast of Bergen.
